Lame title but I couldn’t help it. Not surprisingly, you will hear me start off by saying that I love this MV too!!!!!!! If you appreciate hip-hop music, stylish clothing, eccentric fashion, expensive toys/gadgets and hot men then you must check this out. If you don’t, then you’ll hate this.
Okay, so what do I like/love about this MV? I like their hair and love their fashion. It seems like fur is going to be a fashion trend this year seeing how both GD, TOP, Bom, and TVXQ all had fur somewhere in their MV or live on stage. Love GD&TOP’s crazy jackets, TOP’s glasses, the limited edition BearBricks/Dre Beats and the black & white concept of the MV…also love the rolling Segway with spiraly wheels. But the 3 things I love the most are…..
1. the bubble-wrap reference
2. the butt chair (Had to replay that. Genius. Sexy swipe of the butt!….chair)
3. the Caucasian girls
Oh also…must add one more, can’t forget 4. GaHo!!
I like how Big Bang in general uses non-Asian, or non-Korean girls to be more specific, in their MVs. I don’t think they are using it to purposely show that they aren’t racist, but even in commercials often they use Caucasian models. It’s a good thing because they have many non-Asian fans and those fans feel more welcome and happy to see people of different races (or their own race) featured in their MVs. It also gives a refreshing feel and a point of differentiation. Speaking of which, I love how YG gives them total freedom to break free of the idol category. They aren’t afraid to show that they are grown men, and that they like women and partying too!! It’s not all innocent love and interaction with Korean girls anymore, which is how all other idol groups are displayed…and totally unrealistic. Their fans might have to get adjusted to it though…
Only thing I didn’t like was the product endorsements in the MV. But it’s a typical thing and a lot of American videos have it too…way too often in my opinion and way too obvious as well.
