This has got to be the most amazing, sickest, underground rap collaboration ever. Rapper Decipher has come out with a new song called “Catch Me If You Can” featuring a number of talented rap artists - Dumbfoundead, J.Reyez, Johnnyphlo, Flowsik (did a featuring in JYJ Micky Yoochun’s song), and last but not least, my bias, Jay Park! Also be sure to check out the amazing vocals of Ailee also featured in this song!
I’ve only listened to people like J.Reyez, Dumbfoundead and of course Jay, but I’ve heard of Decipher, Johnnyphlo and Flowsik. They are all really great rappers, I really enjoy their music even though I don’t listen to it all the time. My personal favorites are actually all 3 of them who I’ve listened to.
The only person who I haven’t heard of is a girl by the name Ailee, which sings the vocals in the song. Her vocals are amazing too! It really keeps you in the song, because after listening to some hardcore rap by a number of different people, her powerful but soothing vocals keeps your interest in the song and refreshes the song. When I first heard her sing in the song, I thought she sounded so much like someone but I couldn’t figure out who…until I saw someone comment on the video that she sounds like Rihanna, and yes, that was who I was thinking of.
I have to say, I was really impressed with Jay’s rapping here. I am a Jaywalker, but honestly I have to say before this track came out, he hasn’t come out with a song that really “wow-ed” me. I enjoyed his songs, but there hasn’t been a song where his vocals or rap really impressed me. This one totally did it. It got swagger, the lyrics were creative, his flow was nice and gotta love the minimal swearing and his Far East Movement reference! I’m so looking forward to more things from Jay, because he’s been teasing a lot of great tracks to come in the future on Twitter.
Lucky for us, Decipher has provided free mp3 download links for us to enjoy the song free of charge. But if you’re really feeling the song, go pre-order his album here!
P.S. I read the comments on the video so far, and I have to agree that it’s great if you’re there because you’re Jay’s fan (like me), but do check out the other rappers too (and Ailee) because their talent is known and recognized by a lot of people as well!
